Job Description

We are retained for an exciting role that will see the successful candidate enhance business capabilities in Quebec by overseeing the expansion of two facilities. French and English language abilities are required for this role.

The business focuses on metallurgical test work, including mineral processing and hydrometallurgy, and applied R&D. The company boasts a global brand and a client pipeline that would be the envy of any competitor in the industry.

With a focus on business initiatives and senior team management, the incumbent will have clear objectives to increase revenue and headcount over the coming years, providing measurable metrics for success.

Responsibilities

  • 10+ years of experience in related metallurgical fields, and should include aspects of process flowsheet development at laboratory and pilot plant scale.
  • Up to 25% travel to SGS and client sites, as well as conferences globally.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related applied sciences.

Requirements

  • Generate a clear, strategic vision in collaboration with senior management.
  • Proven track record in metallurgy, in one of the practice disciplines.
  • Manage a multi-million dollar budget with a 10% annual growth target.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in business development, with strong interpersonal and soft skills.
  • Plan corporate strategies with an emphasis on strategic development initiatives.
  • Support the overall global business growth strategies
  • Acquire resources and manage capital to support business objectives.
  • Drive recruitment efforts with a planned 25 - 50% increase in headcount.
  • Effectively communicate hiring needs to senior management to foster buy-in.
  • Manage and mentor the entire team, identifying strengths and addressing weaknesses.
  • Implement Health & Safety (H&S) and compliance standards across divisions.
