Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and accomplished Director of Projects to spearhead international expansion into the North American, Asian, and European recycling markets. This pivotal role focuses on scaling innovative mineral processing technology from a demonstration scale technology in Canada to the global stage, driving project excellence and sustainable growth.

The ideal candidate will have proven success in leading large-scale industrial projects within the mineral processing or related industries. They will bring expertise in scaling operations, managing complex projects in multinational environments, and fostering high-performing teams. A strategic mindset and a commitment to achieving long-term organizational goals are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for international projects in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Assemble and lead high-performing, multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, quality and within budget.
  • Oversee all aspects of project execution, including engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational scaling.
  • Foster a culture of behavioral and process safety, regulatory compliance, project and operational excellence.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with EPC/EPCM firms, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders globally.
  • Provide regular project updates to the executive team, addressing risks and solutions proactively.
  • Drive contract negotiations to secure essential resources and partnerships for international project capability.
  • Work closely with operational teams to achieve operational optimization and stepwise improvement for future projects.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in mineral processing, mining, or related industries, with a focus on international projects.
  • P.Eng. and PMP designations preferred; equivalent qualifications may be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical, or Chemical/Mineral Processing Engineering (advanced degrees preferred).
  • Strong expertise in chemical processes, project management, and scaling industrial operations.
  • Demonstrated successful track record of end to end management of industrial/mining projects.
  • Proven success in managing project budgets ($20M+ annually) and achieving key financial and operational goals.
  • Experience building and leading diverse teams through commissioning and scaling phases.
  • Familiarity with global regulatory standards and compliance in industrial operations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement.
