Job Description
We are seeking an innovative and accomplished VP of Mining Services to lead the mining services division and drive the adoption of proprietary mineral processing technologies. This role is pivotal in advancing sustainable mining practices, overseeing projects from lab testwork to full-scale operations, and establishing the organization as an industry leader.
The ideal candidate will have proven success in the mining or mineral processing industries, with expertise in scaling operations, building high-performing teams, and delivering impactful results. They will possess a strategic mindset, a strong network within the industry, and a track record of operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and client engagement.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary business development leader, engaging directly with executives, investors, and decision-makers in the mining sector.
- Drive revenue growth by securing new clients, partnerships, and technology commercialization.
- Lead mineral processing projects from lab testwork to on-site operations, including planning, commissioning, and scaling.
- Effectively communicate the value proposition of the company's technology to potential clients and partners.
- Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across all projects.
- Deliver technical reports summarizing test outcomes and propose actionable next steps.
- Expand industry presence by participating in conferences and networking with key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mining firms, engineering groups, and technology partners.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Mining Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- P.Eng. (preferred) or PGeo, and 15+ years of combined technical and business development experience in the mining or mineral processing industries.
- Proven ability to lead business development initiatives, including client acquisition and market expansion.
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience negotiating contracts, partnerships, or licensing deals.
- Established relationships with senior executives and decision-makers in mining and mineral processing.
- 5+ years of direct experience in heap leaching, column testing, and laboratory processes.
- Strong track record of scaling operations and delivering impactful results.
- Proven success managing division-level budgets and meeting financial objectives.
- Exceptional leadership of diverse teams in large-scale projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mining regulations and full compliance capabilities.
- Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills to influence key stakeholders.
