Job Description

This is a senior, site based finance leadership role with a Canadian owned intermediate gold producer operating an underground gold and copper mine in British Columbia. The operation is well established and plays a critical role in the company’s overall performance.

The Principal Accountant is responsible for leading the accounting and financial functions at site, providing strategic direction while remaining closely engaged with day to day operations. The role ensures that financial processes, controls, reporting, and systems support the successful execution of the mine business plan, optimize operating and capital costs, and protect company assets.

The working environment offers two structured scheduling options. The first option is a five day work week with weekends off, consisting of three days per week based at site and two days working from home. The second option is a four day on, three day off schedule from Monday through Thursday, with all four working days based at site. Both options are designed to balance operational presence with flexibility while maintaining strong engagement with site leadership and operations.

Working closely with the site senior leadership team, this position contributes directly to financial strategy, compliance, audit readiness, and decision support. The role offers strong visibility, long term stability, and the opportunity to influence outcomes within a complex operating environment.
