Job Description

Our client is seeking a Principal or Director level Metallurgy professional to support the growth of its critical minerals consulting business across North America.

The role combines technical leadership, metallurgical consulting, project execution, and client engagement within a globally recognized pilot plant and process development environment.

The successful candidate will support complex metallurgy programs spanning process development, pilot campaigns, feasibility studies, and critical minerals projects involving commodities such as rare earths, lithium, and scandium.

This is a highly visible position offering the opportunity to mentor teams, support business growth, and contribute to the future direction of the organization’s critical minerals consulting activities.

Candidates may be based anywhere in Canada, with travel to company facilities and client sites as required. International candidates interested in relocating to Canada are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across metallurgical consulting and process development projects focused on critical minerals and advanced metallurgy.
  • Support clients through process development, pilot plant campaigns, feasibility studies, and technical evaluations.
  • Guide project execution, troubleshoot metallurgical challenges, and review technical deliverables.
  • Support business development activities including client meetings, proposals, conferences, and technical presentations.
  • Leverage industry relationships to support growth across North America.
  • Mentor metallurgists, engineers, and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with pilot plant, hydrometallurgy, mineral processing, and consulting groups.
  • Contribute to new service offerings, innovation initiatives, and emerging commodity opportunities.
  • Represent the organization through industry engagement and client interaction.

Requirements

  • Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years in metallurgy, mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, pilot plant operations, or metallurgical consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of metallurgical test work, flowsheet development, pilot campaigns, and feasibility studies.
  • Background in critical minerals such as rare earths, lithium, scandium, nickel, or cobalt preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects within a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and client facing communication skills.
  • Capability to mentor technical teams and junior professionals.
  • Industry network within mining, metallurgy, or critical minerals sectors considered an asset.
